Actress Meenakshi Thapar have met the two aspiring actors: 36-year old Amit Jaiswal and his lover Preeti Surin in the set of her latest movie “Heroine.” The two decided to kidnap Thapar after listening to her boast of her family’s fortune in Dehra Dun, in the Himalayan foothills of northern India.

The Britain's Daily Telegraph suggests that Jaiswal and Surin lured Thapar to go with them on their trip to Gorakhpur town in a Buddhist Temple. During the trip, the duo reportedly hostage Thapar and sent messages to her mother, asking for a ransom worth 1,500,000-rupee or approximately $28,000. They even threatened to drag her to do porn if the family will not give their demand. However, Thapar’s family is only in the middle class and her mother gave 60,000 rupees (about $1,150).

Since the money was not enough, the pair strangled and beheaded Thapar in a hotel. Her torso was later found in water tank. The couple while travelling back to Mumbai had thrown away Thapar’s head out of a moving bus window, reports say.

Detectives were able to arrest the kidnappers, who possessed Thapar’s cellphone and SIM card. They confessed to the killing.
